SATELLINE-1870E     A lightweight Radio Modem
                                                 for internal applications

The SATELLINE-1870E radio modem provides a wireless transparent data link on the European licence-free 868...870 MHz frequency band. It is designed for tight integration into the user’s terminal equipment, and is particularly well suited for the transfer of data and control messages in medium range (1-10 km) applications. In accordance with the regulations on the use of the 869 MHz band, the maximum output power of the SATELLINE-1870E is 500 mW.

The SATELLINE-1870E operates in a transparent transfer mode, which ensures compatibility with most user systems and protocols. The settings of the radio modem can be changed from an external terminal in the programming mode or through auxiliary SL-commands during normal operation.

In case there is a need to extend the coverage of the radio modem network, SATELLINE-1870E modems can be used as repeater stations. By using the Store and Forward function, the radio modem buffers the received data and transmits it further using the same radio frequency as in the reception.

SATELLINE-1870E is an appropriate choice where price and range are important aspects. With its high output power, good sensitivity, small size and low power consumption, it meets both the technical and economical requirements set on wireless communications in a number of applications, including:

New Frequency Version of SATELLINE-EASy

European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has released a frequency band for narrow and broadband ISM-purposes (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical). The 868 ... 870 MHz band is divided into sub-bands according to transmit power (max 0.5W) and duty cycle allowed for the transmitter.

SATELLINE-EASy 869 is a high frequency version of the SATELLINE-EASy modem. SATELINE-EASy 869 uses the Pan-European licence free frequency band 869.400 ... 869.650 MHz and it is a ready to use radio modem with default settings. Output power is adjustable between 10 mW and 0.5 W and it has ten separate 25 kHz channels.

SATELLINE-EASy 869 can be equipped with a LCD and push buttons for facilitating easy configuration of the radio modem. LCD can be used also to monitor the signal strength (RSSI) and the voltage of the power supply.

Routing / repeater functions of SATELLINE-EASy 869 are useful when creating networks with long connection distances.

SATELLINE-EASy 869 is compatible with SATELLINE-M3-TR1 869 module.

Note! Propagation of radio signals at higher frequencies differs from the propagation at lower frequencies. The rule of thumb is that when you double the frequency you cut the communication distance in half. So compared to the 450 MHz version, the maximum communication distance is half when SATELLINE-EASy 869 MHz version is used.

SATEL Compact Proof    
UHF radio modem with IP67 housing and rechargeable battery option

SATEL Compact-Proof is an IP67 classified UHF radio modem  for wireless data transfer. It has a 1 W transmitter, wide 70 MHz tuning range (403...473 MHz) in one hardware and selectable channel spacing. It is based on SATELLINE-EASy and provides a compact and flexible solution for  a wide range of applications. It is particularly well suited for outdoor use (land surveying, for instance) under varying weather conditions.

SATEL Compact-Proof has rechargeable and replaceable battery. The lithium-ion battery provides a longlasting performance and plenty of operating hours. The operating time in +25°C is more than 15 h ( 50% duty cycle@1 W).

According to the IP67 standard, the casing and connectors of the SATEL Compact-Proof  are waterproof and secured against dust. The radio modem is equipped with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), used to indicate the current operating status (frequency, channel number, power level, voltage level, field strength), as well as for changing the setups of the radio modem

SATEL Compact Proof exists also in 869 MHz licence free frequency band.
